Kokomo Opalescent Glass

Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company, Inc.  1939 - 1942.

In an effort to better dispose of defective glass from their rolled glass business, Kokomo Glass purchased a marble machine from Peltier Glass and manufactured marbles utilizing only their own postproduction cullet. Types produced were patch and ribbon. Many are strikingly similar marbles to those manufactured by Peltier Glass. Reasons are likely attributed to the same machinery and initial source of raw materials. Though the machine was designed to produce 5/8" range marbles, larger sizes up to 3/4" were made by normal means, not as double gobs.
